The Experience
Getting tattooed well is more than showing up with an idea. The process starts before you walk in the door — from how you get here, to what you say in a consultation, to how you prepare your body for a long session. Every one of those pieces affects the quality of the work and the quality of the experience.
This section covers the nuances that most studios leave for clients to figure out on their own. My goal is for every person who walks through the door at Ink and Dagger to feel genuinely prepared — not nervous about logistics, not caught off guard in the room, and not managing unnecessary discomfort because nobody told them what to do beforehand.
What to know
Ink and Dagger is in Roswell, Georgia — about 25 miles north of Atlanta. If you're coming from out of town, this guide covers getting here from the airport, where to stay, how to plan your day, and why making the trip is worth doing right. Roswell is a destination studio, not a walk-in shop. The clients who arrive prepared and comfortable get more out of the appointment.
Read this guide →A consultation at my studio is a one-on-one conversation in a private room. No open floor plan, no pressure, no pre-made design pulled from a drawer. This guide covers what to expect — the room, how modesty is handled, what to bring, how the design process works after you leave, and why arriving with questions is more valuable than arriving with answers. Custom work begins with a real conversation.
Read this guide →What you do in the 24-48 hours before your appointment affects everything — your pain tolerance, how the ink sets, how your body holds up over a long session, and how quickly you heal. This guide covers eating, rest, hydration, what to wear, alcohol and blood thinners, menstrual cycle sensitivity, and how to mentally prepare for a multi-hour session. Most of it is simple. None of it is optional.
Read this guide →These guides are written from my experience working with clients over many years — not from a general tattoo FAQ. The details here are specific to the kind of work I do and the kind of appointments I run. If you have a question this doesn't answer, bring it to your consultation. That conversation is exactly the right place for it.
